doilies!!

another week of classes are completed. time is really flying by already.

today during sculpture class sarah and i went and bought some materials. it was a fun excursion. i got some buttons, yarn, and lace. i am going to be working on making a series doilies i am really excited. i am going to make all different kinds. corcheting, knitting, sewing, collaging...who knows. and then i think i will install them somewhere, or maybe just put them in typical areas then photograph them. ill figure that part out when i get to it. they are going to be based on my time here in rome. i have to take my desire to do fiber work and adjust it for the sculptural context. hopefully it will work out alright.

yesterday my art history class went to trestevere. we went to three different churches and looked at different works of art. it was pretty cool. my favorite thing was in this one church there was a huuuuuge mosaic in all different colors...it was sooo beautiful. someday, maybe i will get pictures up. i wish i remembered the name of the church, or the artist, or what it was called.....

tomorrow my printmaking class is going to the treve fountian. that should be pretty neat as well.

Ciao.

hey, hey! I love your idea about the doilies! that sounds so cool! you're so creative...I can't wait to see them all, once they're finished and you bring them back home, in a few months! :-) I had a great day today! it snowed a lot in the evning while I was at work, and I had to drive home in it...which wasn't the "great" part of my day--it was actually kinda scary! I was sliding all over the roads...there was lots of black ice, and at the one point my car slid into the bank, on the side of the road. it wasn't a crash-my car is fine...it was just scary...
there wasn't quite enough snow laying on the roads yet for my tires to really be able to grip--I haven't driven in weather that slippery for a while! but anyway, I made it home from work safely, and although it took twice as long as normal, I was fine...and it was an adventure! :-) i wish I could see that mosaic you were talking about...or, yeah..is that what you called it--the thing made of millions of tiles, in the one church?! sounds gorgeous! k, well love yah--gotta go for now! its fun hearing about your trip...thanks for posting stuff so regularly!! :-) g'night!

The passage of time is on lifes most predictable things to have happen. It is steady and always accurate. Yet, at times if feels like the clock has stopped and we will be stuck in this spot forever. Or opposit, time goes so fast that we don't feel like we're in contol of anything. Thankfully nothing has changed. God is in contol, always was, and always will be. Thank you Jesus. Love ya Cori.

Hi Cori!

Your mom posted your blog address on our cousins' website, and I just got caught up on all of your posts.

What an exciting adventure you are having! I don't know if you remember me, but I am your Grandma's (Mollie) brother's (George) youngest daughter. My husband is Clark and our daughter is Carolina Jo (she will be 11 in April.) We live in Millersburg.

Anyway, Clark and I are soooo jealous of you! We would absolutely LOVE to go to Rome someday. So much history!!

I am keeping you in my prayers, sweetie. Make beautiful art!
