His mercies are new every morning

Lamentations 3:22-24

Through the Lords mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is your faithfulness. "The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I hope in Him!"

almost every single morning that thought runs through my mind "my mercies are new every morning, my mercies are new every morning..." it has been so good to dwell on that thought. God provides enough grace and mercy for whatever each day holds. Don't allow yourself to get distracted by the negative things that happened yesterday, but instead focus on the mercy that God has and is and will provide you with. His mercies are new today!

last night we had a very small bible study here. i put up a flyer late in the day so i don't think many people know about it. there was only three of us, but it was still a good time of fellowship. we are going to let it be a very laidback sort of thing. we just want to have open discussion about Gods word and what he is doing in our lives. hopefully there will be other christians on the campus that will be able to come.

tomorrow night is my night to cook! i am going to make whole wheat pasta with a ricotta cheese sauce and zucchini...and of course with bread. hopefully it will be good.

i heard that it snowed back at home. that makes me a little homesick. :-/

cori, hello my dearest! ...your words encouraged me--the things you shared about God's mercies being new each morning...I needed that word.. so thank you! man, i miss you girl! ...miss talkin' about stuff...oh yummy! your meal tomorrow night I'm sure will be amazing! I have great confidence in your cooking abilities...after all--we do already know how to make so many intelligent things, like what we put in Christine's fridge! lol ..and I can only imagine how your talents have improved since then. :-) yeah...it snowed again this morning, for a second time...but then all melted away by the afternoon. it is pretty, but you're not really missing anything at this point.
:-) ..don't be homesick--I love you and you're almost 1/4 of the way thru your trip already! well have a nice evening! hugs, Dar

Cori,

The snow isn't on the ground anymore, if that makes you any less homesick. ;-) But really, we all miss you a ton, and can't wait until you come back.

I really enjoyed the verse that you're thinking about. It reminded me of a verse I read the other day: "I lay down and slept;
I woke again, for the Lord sustained me." (Psalm 3:5) It's really neat, because every morning that I wake up, it's because the Lord sustains me (which is an evidence of his mercies being new every morning)!

Keep us updated! I love hearing from you!

That bible study sounds good. It can be soooo encouraging to be around fellow Christians at school even here at MU...so much more I'm sure it is for you while you are away in Rome!

Way to go with the cooking! This semester I am going to try to cook dinner every Friday for my family. So by the summer, we both should be experts...haha, or maybe you will be, I'm not so sure about myself on that one.

May God bless the rest of your week, and may you grow in your relationship with Him through this trip, even in the next few days!

Hey dear neice - Will you cook a pasta dinner for me when you are home? It sounds wonderful! You were a real encouragement to me today when I read your update. It was so good to dwell on God's mercies being NEW every morning. That's a good thing because I probably used up the whole supply in one day. Aargh....We are all fine here. I got to play a game with your mom and grandma today. I have been quite busy at work, so it was nice to have an afternoon off. You remain in our prayers. We love you Cori. Aunt Diane
